NEGOTIATING TIPS

The key to proficient negotiating is background. The more you know about the owner's motivation to sell, the stronger you can be in your position to negotiate. For example, if the seller has to move quickly for a job relocation they may be more willing to move on the price if it will ensure a quicker sell. Also, check the recent sale prices of other houses in the neighborhood to see how the seller's prices compare. Their asking price is what they would like to see for their property, but necessarily what they will to settle for.
